PixMax AI is a visual workspace for AI images and videos. It puts each task on a large canvas. You can make an image, connect it to a video model, and keep the assets in one project.

The platform lists models such as Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Wan 3.0, Kling, Veo, and GPT Image 2.5. It also has storyboards, templates, saved assets, and team tools. You can see the latest model list on the PixMax AI website.

I tested PixMax with a new account. I wanted to see what its free credits could cover and whether it could turn a photorealistic AI portrait into a video.

Getting started with free credits

PixMax gave me 30 credits after registration. That was enough to run a low-cost image test.

A tutorial appeared when I first opened the workspace. Clicking it took me to a Feishu document. The guide was useful, but I would rather read it inside PixMax. An on-page guide would let new users follow the steps without leaving the canvas.

PixMax also offered 20 bonus credits after my first successful download. I received them after downloading the image from my first test.

The account received 50 free credits in total. Four credits had to be used before I could claim the download reward.

Testing GPT Image 2.5 Flare

I used the following settings:

  • Model: GPT Image 2.5 Flare
  • Quality: Low
  • Resolution: 1K
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9
  • Cost: 4 credits

To be clear, the test used GPT Image 2.5 Flare at Low quality and 1K resolution. It cost exactly 4 PixMax credits.

I asked the model to create a photorealistic image of a 20-year-old Greek woman having afternoon tea beside the sea in the 1940s. The prompt included a white dress, a blue headscarf, flowers, a teacup, and a Greek island setting.

The result had a clear face, natural skin, detailed clothes, and strong Mediterranean colors. The period style also came through. It worked well as a concept image and as a possible first frame for a video.

The image node stayed on the canvas with its prompt and settings. I could then connect it to a video node. This was the best part of the PixMax experience.

Testing Seedance image to video

After downloading the image, I had 46 credits.

I first selected Seedance 2.0 at 720p for a five-second video. PixMax said I did not have enough credits, so I could not submit the task.

The option I could afford was Seedance 2.0 Fast:

  • Resolution: 480p
  • Duration: 5 seconds
  • Standard listed price: 40 credits
  • Limited-time price during my test: 24 credits
  • Input: AI-generated portrait

The prompt asked the woman to raise her cup, take a sip, and look toward the sea. It also asked for light wind, moving flowers, soft water motion, and a slow camera push.

The generation failed.

Why the video generation failed

PixMax said the input might contain a real person. The source image was made by AI, but the face looked realistic enough to trigger the safety check.

This matters for people who make fashion videos, virtual actors, AI presenters, or short films with realistic characters. PixMax created the portrait, but Seedance 2.0 Fast would not accept the same image as a video reference.

The result does not prove that every face will fail with every model. It does show that an AI-generated face may still be detected as a real person.

PixMax may work better with products, scenery, animals, anime characters, or other subjects that do not look like real people. Creators who need realistic human animation should test this limit before starting a large project.

PixMax vs SeeGen AI pay-as-you-go pricing

PixMax and SeeGen AI use different credit systems, so the number of credits alone does not show which service costs less. The table below converts each task into its estimated dollar cost.

How the prices were calculated

PixMax charges 210 credits for a five-second Seedance 2.5 video at 720p without video input. SeeGen AI charges 300 credits for the same settings.

For GPT Image 2.5 Flare at 1K and Medium quality, PixMax charges 8 credits per image. SeeGen AI charges 7 credits per image.

Although SeeGen AI uses more credits for the Seedance task, its credits cost less at most purchase levels. At the roughly $500 level, the video costs about $1.20 through SeeGen AI's API Pack, compared with $1.75 through PixMax's $449 Scale Pack.

SeeGen AI is also cheaper for GPT Image 2.5 Flare at every level shown. At the roughly $500 level, a 1K Medium image costs about $0.028 on SeeGen AI and $0.067 on PixMax.

PixMax's $1,999 Team Max promotion has the lowest Seedance price at about $0.95. However, SeeGen AI's similarly priced $2,000 API-XL Pack remains cheaper for GPT Image 2.5 Flare, at about $0.028 instead of $0.036.

The PixMax Team Max Pack includes a limited 120% bonus. Prices may change after the promotion ends.

What I liked about PixMax

The canvas is the main reason to try PixMax. Images, videos, prompts, and model settings stay in one visual space. Connecting one result to the next feels simple.

This setup suits storyboards, ads, concept art, and short video projects. It also makes it easy to see how each asset was made. Creators can test several models without moving files between many websites.

The image test was also cheap. Four credits were enough to try GPT Image 2.5 Flare at Low quality and 1K.

What could be better

The face restriction was the main problem. PixMax should explain this limit before a user builds a realistic character and sends it to a video model.

The insufficient credit warning could also show the exact cost of the selected task. That would help users choose another model or resolution.

The tutorial would be easier to use inside the workspace instead of an outside Feishu document.

Is PixMax better for creators or API users?

PixMax is designed around a visual canvas. It is a good fit for creators who want to make images, storyboards, and short videos by hand.

API users often need task endpoints, status checks, batch jobs, webhooks, and stable concurrency. These needs are less central to the PixMax web experience.

SeeGen AI is a better match when direct API access is the main goal. Its API packs include all supported video and image APIs, an online Playground, and more than 480 concurrent API tasks. The SeeGen AI API documentation also explains task creation, polling, uploads, and credit costs.

Final Thoughts

PixMax AI has a strong visual workspace. The canvas is easy to understand, and the free credit offer was enough to test GPT Image 2.5 Flare and attempt a low-cost Seedance video.

The biggest issue was face support. My AI-generated portrait was blocked because the system thought it might contain a real person. This makes PixMax less useful for photorealistic human video projects.

For standard pay-as-you-go packs, SeeGen AI has a lower Seedance 2.5 cost at similar purchase levels.

PixMax is best for hands-on creators who value a visual canvas. SeeGen AI is better suited to developers and teams that need API access, clear task pricing, and higher concurrency.
