CDance AI Review 2026: Is the Free Seedance Trial Really Usable?

CDance AI offers access to several AI image and video models. It also gives new users free credits. At first, this sounds like an easy way to test Seedance before paying.

My experience was less simple.

The video task could not be submitted. Each click opened the payment window again. The image task was accepted, but it was still processing after 40 minutes.

In practice, neither test produced a finished result.

Quick Verdict

CDance gave me 60 free credits in total. A Seedance 2.0 Mini video cost 55 credits, so the balance should have been enough.

However, I could not submit the video task. The Generate button only opened a payment window.

I could submit a Seedream 5.0 Lite image task. However, no image was delivered after 40 minutes. The page continued to say that the result was being prepared, even though it said generation would usually take only a few minutes.

Based on this test, the free credits did not produce a usable image or video result.

What Is CDance AI?

CDance AI (cdance net) is a browser-based AI creation platform. It offers image and video models through a credit system.

The platform lists models such as:

• Seedance 2.5
• Seedance 2.0
• Seedance 2.0 Fast
• Seedance 2.0 Mini
• Seedream 5.0 Lite
• Kling
• Veo
• Wan

CDance is the platform. Seedance is one of the model families offered on it.

Seedance is an AI video model developed by ByteDance. Seedream is ByteDance’s image model family. The official BytePlus model catalog lists Seedance 2.5, Seedance 2.0, Seedance 2.0 Mini, Seedance 2.0 Fast, and Seedream 5.0 Lite.

CDance is not the Seedance model itself. It appears to be a separate platform that provides access to these models.

There are at least three AI websites using a similar CDance name.

These are different websites. They have different domains, support emails, interfaces, and pricing pages.

I found no clear public proof that all three are run by the same company.

The names “CDance” and “Cdance” sound close to “Seedance.” This may help the websites appear in Seedance-related searches. However, similar names do not prove an official ByteDance connection.

Check the full domain before you create an account or make a payment. Credits bought from one website may not work on another.

C Dance Free Credits

I received:

• 40 credits after registration
• 20 credits from the first daily check-in
• 60 credits in total

The costs shown in my account were:

• seedance 2.0 mini 480p, 5s = 55 credits
• seedream 5.0 lite 2K = 40 credits

The 60-credit balance was enough for either test, but not both.

Other Seedance models were locked. I could not view or test the full settings from the free account.

The site also warned that free account tasks may be public. Do not upload private client work, personal photos, or confidential product images without checking the privacy settings first.

How I Tested CDance

I wanted to test image-to-video generation with a realistic human subject.

To keep all 60 CDance credits available for the video test, I first generated a reference image on SeeGen AI.

I used Seedream 5.0 Lite at 2K resolution. The image cost 7 SeeGen AI credits.

The image showed a fictional young woman standing at a Tokyo crossing in the rain. She held a transparent umbrella. The scene included wet pavement, soft shop lights, and people in the background.

The image prompt was:

Create a photorealistic cinematic image of a fictional 24-year-old East Asian woman standing at a busy Tokyo crosswalk on a rainy evening. She has shoulder-length black hair, natural facial features, realistic skin texture, and a calm expression. She wears a dark blue denim jacket, a white top, a deep red scarf, and black trousers. She holds a transparent umbrella naturally with one hand. Wet pavement reflects nearby lights and passing cars. Several pedestrians carrying umbrellas appear softly out of focus in the background. Natural rain, realistic reflections, shallow depth of field, detailed fabric and skin, cinematic street photography, 16:9 composition.

I then uploaded the image to CDance and selected Seedance 2.0 Mini.

The video settings were:

• Image-to-video
• 480p
• 5 seconds
• 55 credits

The video prompt asked the woman to walk across the wet street, look toward the camera, and smile. It also asked for natural hair, scarf, rain, and background movement.

The Video Task Could Not Be Submitted

My CDance balance was 60 credits. The video cost was 55 credits.

The account had enough credits.

However, clicking the submission button opened a payment window. I closed the window and tried again. The same payment window appeared.

I repeated the process, but the task never started.

There was no clear message saying that free credits could not be used for the video. The model and settings were visible, and the page showed the 55-credit cost.

This made the free trial confusing. It appeared that I could test the model, but the payment requirement only appeared at the final step.

Did the Free Image Test Work?

After the video test failed, I returned to the image generator.

I selected Seedream 5.0 Lite with 2K output. The task required 40 credits.

Unlike the video task, the image task could be submitted. The page moved to the generation screen and said:

Your result is being prepared.

It also said that generation would usually take a few minutes.

However, the image was still not ready after 40 minutes. The status remained on “Rendering your generation.”

There was no finished image, clear error message, or useful estimate of the remaining wait time. The displayed timer also did not provide a reliable update.

It is possible that the task finished later. Still, a 40-minute wait without a result or clear progress message is not a good first experience.

The image workflow passed the submission step, but it did not provide a completed result during my test. I could not review the final image quality.

CDance vs. SeeGen AI Pricing

The following comparison uses one-time credit packs. It covers only the two tested models.

CDance prices come from its pricing page and the pricing screen available during my test.

The estimated cost uses this formula:

Pack price ÷ total credits × task credits

SeeGen AI was cheaper for both models in this comparison.

With the $99 SeeGen AI pack, a five-second Seedance 2.0 Mini video costs about $0.23. The lowest C Dance estimate in this table is about $0.46.

The price gap is larger for Seedream 5.0 Lite. A 2K image costs about $0.03 to $0.04 on SeeGen AI. On C Dance, the estimated price is about $0.33 to $0.64.

These estimates do not include temporary discounts, subscription benefits, or future pricing changes.

What I Liked

C Dance does have some useful points:

• New users receive free credits.
• The first daily check-in adds more credits.
• The image task could reach the submission stage.
• The platform offers several image and video models.
• One-time credit packs are available.
• The expected credit cost is shown before submission.

What Needs Improvement

The main problems were clear:

• The free video task could not be submitted.
• The payment window appeared even with enough credits.
• The image task was still processing after 40 minutes.
• The image page gave no useful progress update.
• Other Seedance options were locked.
• Free tasks may be public.
• Three similar C Dance domains may confuse users.
• Seedream and Seedance cost more than SeeGen AI in this comparison.

The main issue is not only the price. It is the gap between what the free trial appears to offer and what users can actually complete.

Is C Dance AI Worth Trying?

C Dance may still be worth checking if you want to explore its interface or view the available models.

However, I would not rely on it as a working free Seedance trial.

The Seedance 2.0 Mini task could not be submitted, even though the account had enough credits. The Seedream 5.0 Lite task was accepted, but it did not provide an image after 40 minutes.

This does not prove that every user will have the same result. The platform may change its rules, improve its queue, or fix the submission issue.

Still, a free trial should clearly explain its limits. It should also give users a useful task status when generation takes much longer than expected.

Based on this test, I cannot recommend CDance as a reliable free trial for Seedance video generation or Seedream image generation.
